Things we lost in the fire
Guileless and clueless, freedom’s desire
But carrying your own weight can easily make you tire.
As we realized care was priceless,
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
Faith and friendship meet and greet,
Backstabbed and seen your faith misfire
Trust everyone to trust No one,
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
Fascination from Fireflies, shock from lies,
Amused from trinkets to Stone faced in dire
Astonishment and Disbelief
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
Warm handshakes to cold hugs,
From firm camaraderie to friendship for hire.
Amity and true friends,
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
Love and Value, Reverence and admire
From looking up to disgust and ire,
Respect for everyone to insolence for everyone
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
Unsuspecting fondness and Unconditional love
The eye for love’s labour lost was never drier.
Ardour and Pure heart,
One of the few things we lost in the fire.
The steel needs it furnace,
But we undervalued our Artlessness.
Innocence, oh my sweet innocence!
We lost a lot in the fire.
