Hope it gives you hell

When you see my face, do you?
Think of the life we could have had.
And wish in your bed an old familiar smell,
Hope it gives you hell.

Where did you go wrong?
I hope you wonder about it.
Now it’s too late to tell,
Hope it gives you hell.

When you hide your tears,
And talk about your new love.
That to yourself, you tried so hard to sell,
Hope it gives you hell.

When you want to light a smoke and can’t,
“Girls shouldn’t do it”, he said.
You sigh as your free spirit you quell,
Hope it gives you hell.

You sit among your old friends,
But only talk to him in hushed voice.
Have you changed or your soul still wants to yell?
Either ways, Hope it gives you hell.

No you aren’t that pretty,
You lost your inner beauty too;
The day from grace you fell,
When they say this, Hope it gives you hell.

For a few moments you gave up a life.
For what did you sound my love’s death knell?
When you read this,
Hope it gives you hell!

P.S – Original idea taken from the All American Reject’s song of the same name.
